AN Irishman got up close and personal with four sharks just off the coast of Cork last week.
Seán Ronayne was on a boat seven miles off the southern coast of Ireland when he noticed the daunting shapes just beneath the surface of the water.
Four blue sharks were circling the vessel - one of which Seán claims was up to nine feet long.
Blue sharks are a relatively safe species, with just four fatalities from the 13 known bites on record over the past five centuries.
They are common sharks in Irish waters.

Here is the video of the four BLUE SHARKS which circled my boat for almost two hours today. It was a pretty amazing experience, after getting over the initial shock. The biggest of them was around 9 feet long. Sorry about the cheesy music but I had to cut out the sound with all the effing, blinding and general mayhem. Video was taken about 7 miles outside of Cork Harbour today.
