Wanted Irish teenager Patrick Ward found and charged after series of burglaries in London

AN IRISH teenager who was wanted by the Metropolitan Police for burglary and other offences has been found and charged.

Patrick Ward, 18, was due to appear before magistrates in Medway on January 31, but failed to show up.

He was charged with four counts of residential burglary, one count of aggravated vehicle taking and other driving offences.

Those charges have now been renewed.

The burglaries Ward is alleged to have committed took place in Bromley and Croydon, as well as in Surrey.

He was arrested by Essex Police on Monday, March 27 and was charged with two further offences.

He was charged alongside an unnamed 17-year-old with with burglary and robbery following investigations into a robbery in Priory Hill in Dartford on March 21, where jewellery and money was taken, and the theft of a car in Kent.

The pair were remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Ward was last known to be living in the Wandsworth area of south London before he went on the run.
