WATCH: Apocalyptic scenes as dash-cam footage emerges of California wildfires

WILDFIRES HAVE continued to spread across the state of California.

Following extremely dry weather and "a historic lightning siege" which saw an estimated 11,000 lightning strikes hit in just 72 hours, fires have spread quickly over the past week, with an estimated 350,000 acres affected.

Two days ago, US President Donald Trump declared a major disaster and released federal aid to the state, but the blazes show no sign of being extinguished any time soon, as a recent update from Cal Fire estimates that over one million acres have been affected.

Shocking images of the wildfires engulfing houses and forestry have spread across the globe, and video footage from local fire departments have shown the devastation facing locals, thousands of whom have been evacuated from their homes.

New particularly ominous footage has since emerged from a member of the public, witht the now-viral video recalling apocalyptic scenes from the bible.

Local man Tyler Day recorded dash-cam footage as he drove through Steele Canyon Road in Napa, California, last week, and the scenes can only be matched by something straight out of a disaster movie or biblical tales.

Posting the video to Facebook, Day wrote: "Dash cam footage driving through the #HennessyFire along Highway 128 and Steele Canyon Road on August 18, 2020."

The footage has since been picked up by media outlets across the globe, and with an estimated 1.4 million acres engulfed by wildfires across California and no end in sight, it's likely this won't be the last footage of the fires which will emerge to shock the world.
