RESIDENTS of more than 10 counties have been advised to stay wary of the Irish weather conditions.
Following the mixed spells of both rainy and sunny weather the past few days, it looks like the typically unpredictable Irish weather is living up to its name.
Areas such as Leinster, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford have been issued a status yellow wind warning. Winds in the southeast of the country will reach speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts reaching up to 90 and 100km/h.
Winds are set to be the strongest along southern areas in Ireland at first but gradually extending to all parts of Leinster by late morning and afternoon.
The wind warning was issued today at 1 pm and the warning will be valid from 8 am on Wednesday 14 March until 6 pm that evening.
Counties such as Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford have been issued a status yellow rainfall warning.
The rain from tonight and tomorrow Wednesday is set to accumulate rainfall of 30 to 50mm with a risk of localized flooding. Mountainous areas are predicted to receive higher accumulations.
The rainfall warning was issued this morning at 9 am and is valid from tonight at 11 pm until tomorrow Wednesday at midnight.
