Weather warning issued for nine counties by Met Éireann

The warning was issued by the State broadcaster on Tuesday morning.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for nine counties.

The wind warning was predicted for the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Clare, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.

The warning was issued this morning at 10 am and is valid from Wednesday, June 13 at 8pm and will last until Thursday, June 14 at 10am.

Windy weather will appear on Wednesday evening and night and last until Thursday morning, coming in from the south to veer on westerly.

The winds are set to reach mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 110 km/hr.

Winds in coastal areas are set to be stronger.
