Witness appeal after man, 30s, killed in motorcycle crash in Dublin

GARDAÍ HAVE appealed for witnesses following a road traffic collision on Sunday evening which left one man dead.

Gardaí were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision in Ballbriggan yesterday evening, Sunday 17 May, Northbound on the M1.

A man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was fatally injured in the collision.

Emergency services were called, but despite best efforts to save his life, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No others were injured in the incident, a Garda report has stated.

The road was closed to traffic yesterday evening with diversions in place as Gardaí cordoned off the area pending an examination of the accident by Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road has now been reopened to traffic.

Investigating Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident, or anyone who may have any information which can assist the investigation, to come forward.

They are particularly appealing to any motorists who may have dash cam footage of the fatal incident to contact Gardaí.

A Garda spokesperson said of the incident:

"The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries to persons was reported.

"Gardaí at Balbriggan are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí."
