Katie Taylor is expecting to produce a career-best performance against Amanda Serrano

KATIE TAYLOR HAS said that her fight with Amanda Serrano is 'the sort of challenge she's always wanted'.

Taylor will fight the Puerto Rican in the famous Madison Square Garden tonight in what will be the first female headline fight at the venue.

The Bray native will put her belts and reputation on the line when she faces seven-weight champion tonight

Speaking to PA, Taylor said “This has been dubbed as the biggest fight in female boxing history and ever since it was announced you can feel the buzz around this fight.

"Training camp is going great, I’m feeling fit, I’m feeling strong and I’m expecting to produce a career-best performance on April 30."

“I think I was born for fights like this and although it’s a huge responsibility, it’s an absolute privilege to be a part of such a huge occasion and I just can’t wait.”

Many people feel that Taylor is the best on the planet and she's aiming to prove that tomorrow night

“I just want to be the best boxer in the world. This is the sort of challenge I’ve always wanted and this fight will determine who the best pound-for-pound fighter is.

“I want to be that person and will do whatever it takes to win this fight.”

Serrano has knocked out 30 of her opponents, while Taylor has stopped six, it promises to be an excellent contest

“I think she’s known to be a big puncher,” Taylor said. “But I wouldn’t be concerned about that. I have a good chin.

“I’m definitely preparing for the toughest fight of my career, but it will be the toughest fight of her career as well.
