Brighton have signed Ireland Under-18 international Jamie Mullins today

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION have added to their Irish contingent today by signing Bohemians and Ireland Under-18 international  Jamie Mullins today.

Mullins has signed a deal with the club until June 2025 and will link up with the club’s under-21s.

Mullins played 32 times for the League of Ireland first-team last year and will now link up with the likes of Andrew Moran and Evan Ferguson, who have both played for Brighton's first team. Aaron Connolly, who also plays for the club is out on loan in Italy.

Ireland's underage attacking midfielder Mullins said on Brighton's website: "I can’t wait to get started. I played alongside Evan Ferguson at Bohemians and we know each other really well.

“We spoke a lot about what Brighton has to offer young players and the pathway they have, so it made it a really easy decision to join.”

Head coach Shannon Ruth added: "We’re really pleased to welcome Jamie and we’re excited to begin working with him.”]

Mullins will now play for Brighton's reserve team in the Premier League 2.

The second string Brighton side will take on Crystal Palace this Sunday.

In other news for Brighton, Ferguson scored second goal in his second game for Brighton and Andrew Moran made his debut for the club in the 4-1 win over Everton on Tuesday.

Speaking via the club website, De Zerbi praised Ferguson and claimed he had the ability to be a 'great striker'.

"I'm happy for Evan, he played a fantastic game," he told the club website.

"He has big potential and I think he can help us in the second part of the season. With Danny Welbeck, he can be very important as our striker. Evan could become a great striker because he has all the qualities, both physical and technical.

The senior side took on Middlesbrough on Saturday in the FA Cup.
