Champion jockey prepares for last day at Cheltenham

 

AP McCoy's last ride at Cheltenham comes in a race named in his hour the AP McCoy Grand Annual Handicap Chase on Friday at 5.15pm. 

McCoy partners the fancied Ned Buntline, trained by Noel Meade and owned by JP McManus as the champion jockey will be keen to leave the Festival in style.

Having twice won the Betfred Gold Cup previously McCoy rides the John Kiely-trained Carlingford Lough, who claimed the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown in February.

Other notable runners McCoy rides on Friday include Fletchers Flyer and Princely Conn, while his last day riding at Cheltenham commences on Hargam in the JCB Triumph Hurdle.
