FOR ONE reason or another, Euro 2016 is fast becoming as much about the fans as it is about the football.

The group of Republic supporters could well be making their way to Bordeaux for Ireland’s second game against Belgium by now, but they still had time to help an elderly French couple change a wheel on their car.
Republic fan Enda Bonner snapped the moment of generosity and tweeted the picture using the hashtag #bestfansintheworld.
On this evidence, it’s hard to argue with him.
