Ireland make one change for Wales clash

Ireland's Scott Bemand has announced the Ireland team for their Round 3 Guinness Women’s Six Nations clash with Wales at Virgin Media Park on Saturday (kick-off 4.45 pm). Bemand brings back co-Captain Edel McMahon, who starts in the back row.

Linda Djougang, Christy Haney, and Neve Jones start in the Irish front row.

Dorothy Wall partners Sam Monaghan in the second row, while Aoife Wafer moves across the back row, with McMahon coming in at 7 and Brittany Hogan again named at 8.

In the backline, Dannah O’Brien and Aoibheann Reilly start at out-half and scrum-half.

Enya Breen and Eve Higgins start in midfield, and Béibhinn Parsons, Katie Corrigan, and Lauren Delany are set in an unchanged back three.

Shannon Ikahihifo, who emerged from IQ Rugby, and Cliodhna Moloney, who was recently called back to the squad, are among the replacements. They're accompanied by Niamh O’Dowd, Sadhbh McGrath, and Fiona Tuite for the forwards. The replacement backs feature Aoife Dalton, Nicole Fowley, and Molly Scuffil-McCabe.

Commenting on the selection, the Ireland Head Coach said, “This game is another opportunity for us to perform in front of our home support. We want to get the tide of support and noise behind us. The hard work has gone in, and now we’re ready to go after that winning performance.”

Kick-off is at 4.45 pm on Saturday and can be seen live on Virgin Media
