It's a pint of Heineken, not Guinness for Rugby World Cup punters

RUGBY fans hoping to boost their World Cup experience with a pint of the black stuff are set to be bitterly disappointed.

Guinness will be off the menu for avid rugby supporters at every match venue when the tournament kicks off on September 18.

Instead, the tournament’s official alcoholic drinks sponsor, Heineken, will provide the only alternative, a tournament spokesperson confirmed.

However, fans will have the chance for one final Guinness tipple whilst watching the rugby action before the World Cup begins.

On September 5, Ireland face England at Twickenham Stadium in their final warm-up game and the Guinness bar will be open to punters as usual.
