Carlow 2-9

London 0-13

DANIEL ST LEDGER and Dara O'Brien kicked late points as a brave London performance ended in another cruel Allianz Football League Division Four defeat.

Gutsy when losing to promotion favourites Offaly at Ruislip London were equally industrious at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Unfortunately for the visitors, though, Carlow had the depth to eventually overcome London's spirited resistance.

Paul Coggins' well organised team frustrated the locals during a fine opening period for London, who went in 0-5 to 0-4 ahead at the break.

With the enterprising Conor Sheridan influential London's pressure meant Carlow hit eight first half wides.

London were efficient at the opposite end as splendid scores from Lorcan Mulvey, Alan O'Hara, and Adrian Moyles edged Coggins' charges in front.

After the restart Carlow goals from Hugh Gahan and O'Brien put them 2-7 to 0-9 clear before London hit four points in a row from Scott Conroy, Sheridan (2), and Mulvey to draw level.

In a hectic finale St Ledger and O'Brien earned Carlow the spoils with two splendid efforts from play.
