The Leinster Senior Football Championship Semi Finals have been confirmed for Croke Park

THIS MORNING it was announced that the Leinster Senior Football Championship semi-finals will be played at Croke Park.

Kildare v Westmeath and Meath v Dublin will take place on Sunday 15 May.

Leinster GAA chairman Pat Teehan raised the possibility of taking games the national stadium previously

"We're looking at the strong possibility we won’t have Dublin in Croke Park for the Leinster semi-final, when asked back in March.

"We didn’t make a decision on it at the time of the draw because semi-final pairings won’t be known until later in the summer, but the likelihood is that we’ll consider that move.

"It would be better to have 20,000 in Portlaoise or Tullamore or Nowlan Park than 30,000 in Croke Park."

Last weekend Dublin cruised through to the Leinster SFC semi-final with a comfortable 1-24 to 0-4 away victory over Wexford.

They will now have the majority of the support for the clash with Meath, taking place at 4pm in the middle of May.

The final will also take place at Croke Park on Saturday 28 May.
