Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy will face Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in the next edition of the charity event 'The Match'

RORY MCLLROY AND TIGER WOODS will team up to face Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in a 12-hole competition under the lights at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. 

The event known as The Match will take place on the 10th of December and is the seventh edition of the event 

Woods and McIlroy have combined for 105 PGA TOUR victories, 19 majors and five FedEx Cup titles between them 

Proceeds from the event will go to the Hurricane Ian relief efforts on the Gulf Coast. 

The golf event throughout the years has raised around $33 million for charitable organizations and provided 27 million meals through Feeding America. 

The first edition, of 'The Match' titled: Tiger vs. Phil, was played on November 23, 2018, between Woods and Phil Mickelson, at the Shadow Creek Golf Course in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mickelson won the match after 22 holes, including four playoff holes

Woods and NFL quarterback Peyton Manning also took on Mickelson and Tom Brady in 2020. 

Woods and Manning held off a late comeback from Mickelson and Brady to win by a single hole

Back injuries have curtailed Wood's career, but it seems he's now ready get back into the swing of things when 'The Match' gets underway again in December. 

This will be Wood's first golf outing since missing the cut at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews in July. 

He also came 47th at the Masters in April. 

it's not yet clear if Tiger will play at Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas in early December, but he is expected to play the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie, Dec. 17-18 in Orlando.
