BBC reveal salaries of its highest-paid stars – and not a single woman makes the top 10

THE BBC has revealed the salaries of its 12 top earners for the second year running – and they're all men.

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker is the best-paid employee at the Beeb for the first time, after overtaking former Top Gear presenter Chris Evans.

Former Spurs and Barcelona striker Lineker, 57, earned between £1.75m and £1.76m in 2017-18.

Elsewhere, Evans, Graham Norton, Jeremy Vine and John Humphrys were among those to see their pay fall since 2017.

And just like last year, Claudia Winkleman remains the highest paid woman at the UK national broadcaster – earning somewhere between £370,000 and £379,999.

Strictly host Winkleman, 46, came in eighth place overall last year but has now dropped to 13th as a result of a shake-up of the corporation's structure.

Last year's list sparked an outcry over gender pay inequality after the top of the list was found to be dominated by men, some of whom were paid more than their female co-presenters.

The Beeb has stressed that published salaries do not yet fully reflect some pay rises and pay cuts that will be taken into account in next year's list.
