Ireland's Dami Hope in the running to win Love Island tonight

IRISHMAN DAMI Hope makes up one half of the four couples who are in with the chance of taking home a £50,000 prize in the 2022 Love Island final.

The final episode of the season will see one couple crowned the winning couple after a summer of trials and tribulations on the hit ITV2 dating show.

Hope, who is from Wexford but living in Dublin, is coupled up with Indiyah Pollack, with the pair having shown an interest in each other from the early weeks of the show.

Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page are the other finalists.

Paige Thorne and Adam Collard narrowly missed out on a place in the final after they received the least amount of votes from the public and therefore were dumped from the villa in Sunday's episode.

Last night also saw family members be reunited virtually with the contestants.

Indiyah's mother Dee and her sister Shak used the visit to make it clear that they were not impressed with Dami's behaviour in the show's other villa, Casa Amor.

When Dami finally met Indiyah's mother, he immediately apologised for his behaviour and recognised some of his actions were "immature".

Former England striker Michael Owen, father of Gemma, did not appear on the show, but his wife Louise did reveal his thoughts about her time in the villa.

"Honestly, he is really proud of you, really proud," she said.

Her friend Sarah did however tell Gemma that there was an image circulating on social media showing how Luca and her father had a striking similarity.

The Love Island final airs on ITV2 at 9pm tonight.
