London Irish Film Festival Underway

The Irish Film Festival London got underway last night with a screening of Irish director Kieron J Walsh’s critically acclaimed Jump.

Industry representatives and members of the Irish community met and mingled at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith for the screening, which was preceded by a trailer showing forthcoming screenings on the festival’s calendar.

The festival continues this week with screenings at the Riverside, Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith and the Tricycle Theatre Kilburn.

It will close this Sunday (November 25) with the hotly-anticipated Good Vibrations, a biopic on Belfast punk legend Terri Hooley.

Now it its second year, Festival Director Kelly O'Connor told The Irish Post she has great plans for the future.

She said: "We have already grown considerably since our inaugural event in 2011. This is in part due to our fabulous sponsors but is also testament to the excellence of the Irish film industry, which is producing some wonderful work. We look forward to seeing you all at the Irish Film Festival London."
