O'Driscoll's book achieves equal British and Irish sales

IRISH rugby icon Brian O’Driscoll’s popularity stretches to both sides of the Irish Sea – with his autobiography selling as many copies in Britain as it has in Ireland.

The Test: My Autobiography was released in October of last year and went on to win Sports Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards – beating off hot competitor Roy Keane’s second biography, The Second Half.

Since its release, The Test has sold 53,879 copies in Ireland – with British sales just barely lagging behind on 53,431.

O'Driscoll co-wrote the book with Alan English and it became an instant best seller for the former captain of the British and Irish Lions.

Despite Keane’s effort outselling his overall, O’Driscoll’s book managed to take the Christmas number one slot at the busiest time of year for book sales.
