'For the thousands of Irish who left but never forgot their roots' - beautiful video sums up the emigration experience

AN IRISH YouTuber has captured the emotions of moving abroad for many young Irish people in a short film titled Home

Riyadh Khalaf, originally from Dublin, moved to London earlier this year.

He describes the video Home as "for anyone who has said goodbye to family, friends and their homeland in pursuit of a new life abroad."

"For the hundreds of thousands of young Irish who left but never forgot their green roots."

"Home is fluid and can exist wherever you find comfort and happiness," he says. "I have found mine, and I couldn't be happier."

The short three-minute film premiered at the Buffer Festival, Toronto on October 22 as part of the Travel and Adventure screening.

"The London Irish surviving and striving," he says in the video, "in a jungle of concrete and glass that is so foreign from our past."
