James Vincent McMorrow and Laura Whitmore have backed the new #BeMyYes campaign giving a voice to the Irish abroad who cannot vote in this month’s Marriage Equality Referendum.
Under Irish electoral law vast numbers of Irish emigrants will not be able to cast their vote on May 22.
Only Irish citizens overseas who have been living away from Ireland for less than 18 months still retain full voting rights, with an estimated 60,000 able to do so.
