Dublin was hotter than Brazil today

The sun was surely splitting the stones.

The temperatures in Ireland continue to soar, leaving the whole country sweating and silently hoping for a relaxation in the humidity that drives most people wild.

While locations around the country racked up temperatures of 22, 23 and 26 degrees, one location in Dublin was hotter than most.

The Phoenix Park recorded an impressive 27.7 degrees today, the hottest its been for quite some time.

Unbelievably, today's temperature in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil was 26 degrees.

Why bother booking a holiday across the world when you could stay in Dublin and soak up the rays?

Other high temperatures around the country included Oak Park in County Carlow at 26.1 degrees, Gurteen, County Sligo at 23.9, Cork Airport with 22 degrees, Malin Head in County Donegal at 17.4 degrees and Belmullet in County Mayo recording a 17 degrees.
