Gardaí investigate taxi driver robbed at knife point in Louth

Two thieves left with cash and the taxi man's vehicle.

Gardaí are investigating the robbery and unlawful taking of a taxi that occurred at approximately 12:45am in the Drogheda area this morning.

The taxi driver, a male in his 30s, was transporting two male passengers in the Termonfeckin Road area of Drogheda when one of the males, allegedly armed with a knife, demanded cash and his phone and then made him get out of his car.

The two men then left the scene in the stolen car.

No injuries were sustained.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen or anyone who may have information on the 2010 Silver Toyata Verso taxi to contact Gardaí in Drogheda on 041 987 4200.

Gardaí are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who was in the Termonfeckin Road are of Drogheda between 12:00am - 1am on the 14th of December 2018 to contact Gardaí in Drogheda or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
