Girl, 17, killed in tragic road accident in County Meath

A TEENAGE girl has been killed and two others injured in a road traffic accident in County Meath.

A 17-year-old girl tragically lost her life in the incident, which occurred at around 4.40pm yesterday afternoon in the Pelletstown area of Drumee.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and a boy, also aged in his teens, was brought to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, though his injuries are understood to be non-life threatening, RTÉ News reports.

The teenage girl's body has been removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, County Meath, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death and assist in the Garda investigation into the crash.

A man in his 20s was also injured in the incident, and was rushed to Dublin's Beaumont Hospital in a serious condition where he is continuing to receive emergency treatment.
