Irish man jailed for stabbing neighbour for citing poetry

A 40-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for stabbing and biting his neighbour.

The injured party who lives beside the convicted, John Paul Mulready was accosted and stabbed in the leg.

The victim, Dermot Byrne, was playing music in his house when Mr Mulready burst into the flat holding a knife shouting about the noise.

Mr Byrne said he was forced to defend himself with a frying pan before Mr Mulready tackled him to the floor and stabbed him in the leg.

Mr Mulready also bit the victim in the face.

According to Irish Times, Mr Mulready was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
