Piers Morgan's mum had 'quite a bad reaction' after taking Covid-19 vaccine

PIERS MORGAN says his mum had quite a bad 'fluey reaction' after getting vaccinated for Covid-19.

The TV star spoke of how his mother Gabrielle had been rather unwell ever since she received her first dose of the vaccine last Saturday.

According to Morgan though, his parents insisted the process was "very efficient, very quick" and "very painless".

Speaking during Monday's episode of Good Morning Britain, Morgan said of his mum and dad: "All very happy. My mum then got quite a bad reaction to her jab.

"I say bad, like a fluey reaction, and she's in bed.

"A lot of people are getting a little bit or a little bit more reaction."

The news comes less than a day after Morgan took to Instagram to tell the world of his parents' successful inoculations.

"BREAKING: Nearly 600,000 more people received covid vaccine jabs in UK yesterday - including, I'm delighted to say, my parents," he wrote.

"That's 1% of our entire population in ONE DAY which is truly amazing. Finally we're world leaders at something in this pandemic other than hideous death rate.

"Thanks to our magnificent NHS and to everyone involved in making this roll-out so successful incl the Govt. Keep jabbing!"

Morgan failed to specify which vaccine his mother received, but health experts have forewarned that mild side effects such as flu symptoms are quite normal and commonplace.

Not everyone who takes a jab will get any side effects, but those who do should see their symptoms subside after a few days.
