Temperatures to drop to -4 in parts of Ireland tonight

IF YOU thought it was time to put away those winter woollies, think again.

Weather forcasters in Ireland are predicting a plunge in temperatures tonight in parts of Ireland.

Heavy rain is predicted for the east of the country today, with those in the west of Ireland enjoying some 'good sunshine' in what's otherwise expected to be a blustery day with fresh northerly winds.

Temperatures will be around 6 to 9 degrees.

Tonight, however, it will be time to wrap up warm with the mercury expected to drop to between -4 and -1 degrees Celsius.

It will be 'very cold tonight, frosty with the risk of ice patches', Met Éireann said.

"Minima will widely fall back to range -4 to -1 degrees Celsius," forcasters added.

Tomororw will see a crisp start ot the day, but temperatures will rise to as high as 8 to 10 degrees.
