Tragedy as man killed in Kerry in single-vehicle collision

A MAN in his 30s has been killed in a collision which occurred in Kerry yesterday evening.

Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 6pm on February 15, they confirmed today.

The collision occurred on the N71, Kenmare to Bantry Road at Drominassig, Co. Kerry.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.

A post-mortem will take place in due course.

A technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision investigators is taking place today, meaning the road is currently closed, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
