Alfie was reunited with his family at long last.
The dog was spotted by a woman in Ballinasloe, missing from his home with the Kirkpatrick family in Galway.
Alfie was stolen on June 7 this year but thankfully was located by Racheal Staunton from Ballinasloe, who came across the dog wandering around alone.
The dog is said to have suffered "four months of cruelty and neglect" but on being reunited with his family, seemed excited and relieved to be back with his loving owners.
Galway SPCA said: "Alfie is still shut down and traumatised by his ordeal but he most defiantly knew his family had come to take him home..
"For now, we are wiping away the tears and are so happy that we could play a small part in this beautiful reunion."
