The weather this week is going to get even colder

Will we have a White Christmas?

The weather on the Emerald Isle has been cold, frosty and rainy and by the looks of the  weather forecast, it's not going to get any better.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with just a few spots of drizzle at first.

Top temperatures will stay around 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southeast winds, strong and gusty near coasts.

Wednesday will have rain and drizzle but will remain largely dry elsewhere with a few bright intervals breaking through the cloud.

Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh southeast winds.

Thursday looks like a rather cold day with outbreaks of rain, heavy in parts of the south and southwest early in the day, but easing as the day progresses.

Top temperatures of 4 to 7 Celsius in a moderate to fresh east to southeast breeze.

Friday is expected to begin mainly dry and cold with just a little patchy drizzle in western areas.

Top temperatures of 4 to 8 Celsius.
