A WOMAN in her 90s has died in a road traffic collision in Ireland this evening.
The incident happened on the Sleaveen Road in Macroom, Co. Cork at around 5.20pm.
The elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after her car collided with another vehicle.
The driver of the second car was unhurt.
The woman was removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination.
The road remains closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Macroom Garda Station on 026-20590.
