LONDON Irish have announced the signing of Joe Trayfoot from Harlequins.
The 23-year-old, who has represented England at Under 16 and 18 levels, joined the Harlequins Academy in 2008.
He made 48 appearances for Harlequins, playing both as a forward and across the back row, specialising at blindside flanker.
Trayfoot said: “I am really looking to joining London Irish. I had a good conversation with the rugby committee and it is clearly a very ambitious set up heading in a really promising direction. The facilities are world class and I cannot wait to get started.”
In 2013 Trayfoot played an important part in Harlequins LV= Cup winning side and was nominated for LV= Cup Breakthrough Player of the Year.
London Irish Operations Director Bob Casey said: “Joe is one of the brightest young English talents.
"He is a top quality player with a great work rate who we feel can add real strength to our back row. He is an ambitious young player who wants to be part of our future.”
