Mid-week betting tips: Headline News fresh for big run at Beverley

Our tipster Karl Hedley tells you where to put your money this week

WEDNESDAY

BEVERLEY

7-00       BARRY PARKER MEMORIAL HANDICAP – 1 M 1 F 207 YDS

Headline News goes well fresh and won at the first time of asking last season. She has also won on a turning track and is quite happy in testing conditions so Rae Guest looks to have found an ideal opportunity for her.  Headline News represents a yard in fine form that does well with its limited amount of runners and she can show the boys a clean pair of hooves.

KEMPTON

7-15       VISIT AND DINE IN THE PANORAMIC HNADICAP – 2 MILES

Arashi is a three time course winner who shall appreciate a return to this polytrack surface. He has been given a short break by Derek Shaw and it would be of little surprise to see him in a better light. He is four pounds below his last winning mark and he can confirm form with the likes of Bouggatti and Bramshill Lass. Arashi is weighted to reverse form with Newtown Cross and Montjess and he can go close here.

THURSDAY

SANDOWN

7-15       CANTOR FITZGERALD HENRY II STAKES (GROUP 3) – 2 MILES 78 YDS

Brown Panther is as versatile as they come and this talented six year old can add another valuable prize to his haul in recent seasons. Connections will be using this race as a stepping stone towards a tilt at the Ascot Gold Cup next month and with him being proven at this trip and on a variety of surfaces, it seems a logical step. Richard Kingscote has partnered him to all but one of his eight career wins and the duo have to be high on the shortlist.

FRIDAY

NEWMARKET

4-15       LLOYDS BANK COMMERCIAL SUPPORTING YOUR BUSINESS HANDICAP – 1 M 2 F

Devilment made a pleasing return to action at Kempton a few weeks ago and he can improve again at his local track. He has gone well here previously and Mikael Barzalona has partnered him to success in the past. This slight step back in trip is unlikely to pose too much of an issue for this three year old son of Cape Cross and he commands plenty of respect.
