Irish language students in Britain awarded Fáinne for taking first steps in Gaelic

TEN students from Greater Manchester, Cornwall, Birmingham, Coventry, Dorset and county Clare have achieved Fáinne Cúpla Focal awards to mark their proficiency at beginners' level Irish.

The awards were recently presented by the Manchester Irish Language Group.

Chair of the Group, Pat McGuinness said: "I am delighted that adult learners from Manchester and beyond were able to access our on-line classes and to make such good progress.”

“Their success is well-deserved reward for their hard work.

“We now aim to provide the opportunity for them to take the next steps in their Irish language journey."
