Andrew Maxwell's 'London Loves' comes to Udderbelly festival

STRAIGHT-TALKING Irish comedian Andrew Maxwell heralds two decades as a Londoner this April with his topical and bitingly funny show London Loves.

Full of “barn-storming anecdotes, acerbic observations and Maxwell’s own coming-of-age in London tales”, the show was a sell-out in the capital last year.

For his residency in Shoreditch last autumn, Maxwell used his BBC contact book to pull in celebrity guests including Sandi Toksvig, host of Radio 4’s The News Quiz, which Maxwell has been a guest on several times.

The two-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee was born and raised in Dublin before moving to London 20 years ago to start his stand-up comedy career.

Since then Maxwell has appeared on BBC One’s Live At The Apollo and created his own BBC Radio 4 show Andrew Maxwell’s Public Enemies.

London Loves, Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 at Udderbelly Festival, Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XX. Call 0844 545 8282
