Animals die in arson attack on Co. Fermanagh farm

POLICE are investigating after an arson attack at a farm in Co. Fermanagh resulted in the deaths of three animals.

A cow and two calves died in the blaze, which started at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, September 26.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service has now determined that the fire was started deliberately and the matter has been passed to police.

The animals were housed in a shed that was set on fire at the farm on Killsmullen Road in Tedd.

The shed also contained high-value farming equipment, which was completely destroyed in the blaze.

Detective Constable Linda Strawbridge said: “I am asking anyone who was in the area at around the time the fire was discovered or who may have any information that could assist us, to please call 101, quoting reference number 329 28/09/18.”
