Elderly Irish woman killed after car hits wall in Co Kerry

AN ELDERLY WOMAN has died after a car crash in Ardfert, Co. Kerry, this morning.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened around 11.25am on Friday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision in Farranwilliam, but sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was alone in the car when she hit a wall.

A Garda forensic team have been deployed to examine the crash site.

The road has now been closed, with local diversions set up for other motorists.

The woman’s body was removed to University Hospital in Tralee for a post mortem exam.
