Gardaí hunt for murdered teen's phone which may have been stolen from the scene

Gardaí investigating the murder of a teenager are searching for his phone which they believe may be key to finding out what happened.

18-year-old Cameron Reilly was found dead in a field popular for underage drinking in Dunleer, Co Louth on Saturday morning.

No arrests have been made as of yet despite Gardai conducting “several interviews” with locals.

Gardaí investigating the murder are now hunting for Cameron Reilly’s iPhone, which they believe may have been stolen from the scene.

They believe the phone could be extremely helpful in finding out what happened to the teen.

The phone is an Apple iPhone 8, space grey in colour with a green hardback cover.

Gardaí are asking home and business owners in the area to check their premises for the phone including waste bins and recycling bins.

They believe that the key to establishing what happened to Cameron lies in the local community and are asking anyone who was in the area on Friday night/Saturday morning to contact them in confidence.

Hundreds of people, including members of Cameron’s family, attended a vigil for the young man in Dunleer last night.

More than €5,500 has been raised in 24 hours on a GoFundMe page set up to raise funds for the family of the deceased.
