THE SEASON to be jolly is fast approaching, and one Irish waiter in America will be feeling particularly merry after a stranger paid for his trip home for Christmas.
On Sunday, Taryn Keith from Houston, Texas posted an image to Facebook of a tip her boyfriend Ben received the night before.
The tip was for $750 and was left by a mystery man known only as “Jeffery P.”
It was accompanied by a note written by the kind-hearted stranger which read: “Hopefully this can get you back to Ireland for the holidays”.
In her Facebook post, Keith explained that she and her Irish boyfriend Ben are expecting a baby and hope to visit Ireland shortly after its birth.
“My boyfriend got this tip last night at work. He’s from Ireland and is trying to take us back there once Killian is born so we can meet his family,” she said. “Thought I would share it to show everyone that there is not only hate out there. Truly blessed.”
The life affirming story has since gone viral only after it was shared by LoveWhatMatters, earning almost 100,000 likes.
Perhaps the world isn’t so bad, after all.
