Man in his 30s arrested over murder of disabled Irish pensioner Anthony Rogers a year on

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the murder of wheelchair-bound Irish pensioner Anthony Rogers in Dublin a year ago.

Mr Rogers was stabbed to death as his home in Robinson’s Court, Cork Street on November 6, 2016.

The 61-year-old was disabled and had to use a wheelchair in order to get around.

He was found bleeding in his home and was rushed to St James’ Hospital with horrific knife wounds.

Sadly, the vulnerable pensioner later died in casualty.

This morning, a man aged in his 30s was arrested in connection with Mr Rogers’ killing.

He was brought to Kevin Street Garda Station in Dublin 8 for questioning.

It is understood that the man will appear before Dublin District Court sometime this afternoon.
