Man charged with GBH after teenager attacked

A MAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a teenager was attacked in Co. Antrim.

Police were called to the incident in Ahoghill at around 8.50pm on January 31, where a teenage boy was assaulted in a carpark within The Diamond area.

“He sustained facial injuries as a result of the attack – and required hospital treatment,” the PSNI confirmed in a statement.

“He was also left shocked and terrified by what happened,” they added.

A 40-year-old man who was arrested following the attack has since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent.

He appeared before Coleraine Magistrates' Court yesterday (February 2).

“As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
