Met Éireann issues warning as heavy rainfall poses flood risk

MET ÉIREANN has warned that several counties are at risk of flooding from heavy rainfall expected over the coming days.

The meteorological service issued a status yellow warning on Wednesday evening, to come into force on Thursday at 6pm.

It forecasts rainfall for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

The warning, which is in place until 3pm on Friday, says 30–50mm of rain is expected from Thursday evening into Friday.

It adds that the heavy rainfall poses a flooding risk.
