GAA: Irish TV to show live broadcast of All-Ireland club quarter-final

THE All-Ireland club quarter-final between London senior champions Tir Chonaill Gaels and first time Munster champions Clonmel Commercials will be broadcast exclusively live on Irish TV on December 12.

Tir Chonaill Gaels enter the final stages of the competition in buoyant mood on the back of  their 16th county title victory over St Kiernan’s in the Danny Sullivan London Championship Final at the Irish TV Grounds in Ruislip on November 29.

London GAA PRO Declan Flanagan said the live broadcast next Saturday is great news for everyone involved in the GAA fraternity in London.

“Irish TV did a super job showcasing the London County Final recently and this national and international TV exposure highlights the outstanding work that is taking place at grassroots level in London GAA,” he said.

The live broadcast on Irish TV will include full commentary, in-depth analysis and all the action as the drama unfolds.

Irish TV GAA commentator Brendan Hennessy added: “Tir Chonaill Gaels have a great chance on their home pitch to cause a massive upset. The Gaels are very fit this year, they have a very fluent defensive system and they have forwards that can score."

Clonmel Commercials won their first ever Munster Championship with a last-gasp goal against Munster kingpins Nemo Rangers in the Munster final last Sunday.

The Tipperary champions boast seven inter-county players including the influential Michael Quinlivan, Seamus Kennedy and Jason Lonergan.

  • The live coverage will be broadcast from 1pm on Saturday, December 12, on Irish TV, SKY 191, all Free to Air boxes, Freesat 400, Eircom’s eVision 191 and online at www.irishtv.ie.
