Irish Danny DeVito lookalike 'urgently needed' for new It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia series filming in Dublin

THE GANG are coming to Ireland.

An Irish casting agency have issued a unique-- and urgent-- casting call for this weekend, and they're on the hunt for someone special: A Danny DeVito lookalike.

The iconic actor has spent the last 15 years starring on the hilarious US sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a show about five terrible, terrible people continuously ruining their lives and the lives of everyone who crosses their path.

The show is set in an Irish bar in Philadelphia, aptly named Paddy's Pub, and while Sunny have done a few St Patrick's Day-themed episodes over the years, the upcoming season will see them experience the real thing as the gang descends on Dublin city.

Irish agency Movies Extras.ie have issued the "urgent" casting call for this Sunday, 29 August, and are seeking a Danny DeVito Double for the paid work.

In the casting call, the agency wrote:

"Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia are coming to Ireland! And we need a Danny DeVito Double. Shooting is this Sunday 29th Aug and the location is Dublin.

"If you know anyone that could work, please share, this is paid work."

It might seem like a big ask to find someone who fits the description with just a few days' notice-- but believe it or not, Dublin already has it's own, semi-famous, Danny DeVito lookalike.

'Danny Dublin DeVito' is a bit of a cult figure for those in the know, and in 2019 a popular Dublin arcade bar even made a coin depicting his face to be used as currency in their popular pub.
