THROUGHOUT 2015 the Irish community across Britain will celebrate the works of William Butler Yeats – 150 years on from his birth.
Cultural events taking place right across Ireland, and among the Irish communities overseas, will celebrate the poems of one of the leading Irish literary figures of the 20th century.
In line with this Dublin-born actor Michael Gambon has lent his famous voice to this video, as he recites one of Yeats’ best known works “The Song of Wandering Aengus”.
The video was released yesterday as Ireland's programme for Yeats Day 2015 was launched.
Yeats Day takes place on June 13 – the date of the poet’s birth in 1865.
