World Irish Dancing Championships: Girls 12-13 & 13-14 preview

Which girls will end up on top of the Worlds at Irish dancing’s biggest competition?  Tallulah Speed looks at today's potential winners in the girls’ categories, based on past competition performance.

12-13 Girls

On paper it’s looking like current World Champion and All Irelands Champion Clodagh Davis from the Carson-Kennedy Academy is secured for victory, with friendly rivals Emma Casey from McConomy and Nicole McConway from Scoil Rince McConomy-Bradley – who together with Clodagh have made up the top three at the Worlds for the past two years running – both out of the running due to judging conflicts.

13–14 Girls

Keeva Corry from Croghan-Greene has won the last three Worlds titles in her age category, so she’s looking likely to secure a fourth. However, Niamh Neale from Doherty Petri and Beth Monaghan from the Carey Academy are never far behind and definitely still in the race. Also keep an eye out for 2014 All Scotland’s winner Rachel Cummins of the Linda Martyn school.
