Body discovered in River Boyne as hunt for missing Meath teen ends

A BODY has been discovered in the River Boyne following a desperate search for an Irish teenager.

Gardai confirmed that the search for 18-year-old Jacinta Hand had been stood down following the body recovery on Wednesday evening.

Jacinta was last seen in Navan, Co. Meath on Saturday, September 5.

Her family contacted the authorities and a search was quickly launched.

The teenager was described as being approximately 5 foot 6 inches in height with a thin build, blonde hair and blue eyes.

A spokesperson said: "Following the recovery of a body from the River Boyne in Navan, Co. Meath, the missing person search for Jacinta Hand has been stood down.

"No further media action is required. Thank you for your assistance in this matter."
