Dad left heartbroken as 7-year-old daughter dies from injuries sustained from bouncy castle

THE FATHER of Summer Grant has told Chelmsford Crown court of his heartbreak at losing his little girl.

Lee Grant and his 7-year-old daughter Summer were visiting a funfair in Essex when the bouncy castle Summer was playing on flew off into the air.

The amusement was reportedly not sufficiently tied to the ground at the funfair and Mr Grant said the air-filled castle went up "50ft in the air".

According to BBC, the bouncy castle blew away from the ties securing it and travelled up to 300 metres before hitting a tree.

Mr Grant said upon discovering the castle had become loose he ran after it but couldn't catch it.

When the castle finally stopped moving, 7-year-old Summer was rescued from the interior but later died from her injuries.
