Man in critical condition after being shot in stomach

The incident occurred at 1.30am this morning.

PSNI were alerted to a shot being fired in the New Lodge area in Belfast in the early hours of September 15.

The victim was found bleeding on the ground and was rushed to hospital for his injuries.

Sergeant Corrigan of the PSNI said: "When we arrived at the scene, we found that a man in his 20s had sustained a gun-shot wound to the abdomen and had facial injuries. He was treated at the scene by the ambulance service and transferred to hospital."

"The man is currently being treated in hospital for his injuries. His condition is described as critical but stable," they added.
