A MAN has died and his partner left seriously injured after being attacked by a group of armed men at the man’s home in Co. Cork.
The attack occurred at around 3am today at the house in Ballincollig.
The couple were rushed to Cork University Hospital for treatment, where the man was pronounced dead this morning.
The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Another woman and two children under six, who were also in the house at the time of the attack, were unharmed.
After the armed men fled the scene, a car was found burned out in the Waterfall area around five miles away.
Gardaí are carrying out a technical investigation at the house.
